How to Customize a Recipe and Make It Your Own

Created by Joe Memun, Modified on Wed, 28 May at 5:51 PM by Joe Memun

Love a recipe but want to tweak it to better fit your taste, ingredients, or needs? You can create your own version of any recipe by duplicating and customizing it — title, ingredients, nutrition, and more.

How It Works

Instead of editing the original recipe, you’ll create a personal copy. Once saved, the recipe becomes yours and appears under Custom Recipes in your account.

You can edit virtually anything — whether you want to change ingredients, rewrite the instructions, tweak the cook time, or upload a new photo.

How to Customize a Recipe

  1. Open the recipe you want to customize

  2. Click the More menu (⋮) and choose Duplicate & Edit

  3. Make any changes you want — from small swaps to a full rewrite

  4. Click Analyze Ingredients

    • If all ingredients match our database, your recipe will be instantly approved

    • If any ingredients aren’t recognized, it will go to our team for review

  5. Review the auto-calculated nutrition info — adjust manually if needed

  6. Click Save

What Happens Next

  • If everything checks out, the recipe is saved and added to your Custom Recipes immediately

  • If not, our team will review it manually. You’ll get an email when it’s approved and ready to use

We do this to maintain the accuracy and quality of the platform — while still giving you full control to personalize recipes.

That’s it. You’ve got your own custom version, ready to use in any meal plan.
